United Clothing & Textile Association (UCTA) is a non-profit, apolitical, and democratic organisation duly registered an Employer’s Organisation with the Dept. of Labour, in terms of the Labour Relations Act under registration number LR 2/6/3/823 and has been operational since 2011.
UCTA was created to promote the economic and social interests of its members in the clothing and textile sectors, however UCTA has since evolved to incorporate the broader sectors of the South African economy.
UCTA is focused on assisting its member employers with all Labour issues, by providing a comprehensive Labour service backed by professional legal and experienced Industrial Relations practitioners. UCTA through its nationwide networks of accredited affiliates’ offers members a professional service with a hands on approach in labour related matters.
In managing your labour relations UCTA will contribute to a productive and sustainable working environment for our members by promoting the interests of its members through participation in organised collective bargaining as well as the provision of strategic input and advisory support.
UCTA’s objectives includes inter alia, to promote and protect the interest of employers engaged in all sectors of industry, trade and commerce in South Africa and offers advice concerning various aspects of labour policy, including liaising with Trade Union, Government.
As a registered Employers’ organisation UCTA has the right to represent our members at the CCMA, Bargaining Councils and Labour Court. UCTA assist its employer members across all industry sectors of the country.
UCTA provides it members with unlimited free labour law advice including documentation (such as purpose-build employment contracts, rules and discipline policies and procedures in the workplace, warnings and disciplinary notices, etc.)
